4-1 CVS: All this for 25-cents

Every quarter CVS awards its customers who are members of its rewards program, the CVS Extra Care Bucks (ECB) rewards program. Today I scanned my CVS card inside the store and received $5 in extra care bucks (ECBs) and $5.50 for the quarterly bonus. I combined that with a $2.95 ECB that I already had, found these items on 50% clearance, and paid 25-cents for everything (and that included tax).
  • 4 bottles of VO5 shampoo, regularly 99-cents, clearance priced 50% off for 50-cents
  • 4 bottles of VO5 conditioner, regularly 99-cents, clearance priced 50% off for 50-cents
  • 1 Gold Emblem (GE) brand mini pretzel stix, regularly 79-cents, clearance priced 50% off for 39-cents
  • 1 Gold Emblem (GE) brand Asian trail mix, regularly $4.99, clearance priced 50% off for $2.49
  • 1 Gold Emblem (GE) brand Cranberry nut trail mix, regularly $4.99, clearance priced 50% off for $2.49
  • 1 Gold Emblem (GE) brand can of Mexican stewed tomatoes, regularly $1.29, clearance priced 50% off for 63-cents
  • 1 Gold Emblem (GE) brand can of stewed tomatoes, regularly $1.29, clearance priced 50% off for 63-cents
  • 1 package of Lipton rice, regularly $1.67, clearance priced 50% off for 63-cents
  • 1 Smuckers grape jelly, regularly $3.99, clearance priced 50% off for $1.99
  • Total value of $13.45 (would have been $26.90 regular priced) for 25-cents out of pocket: 99.42%
If you haven't already, sign up for the CVS ECB program here. Scan your ECB card every time you go into the store. Look for clearance merchandise in carts near the front door and scan the aisles for clearance priced merchandise.
